چکیده

The adsorption of simple gases begins with the formation a monolayer on pristine surface, not always followed by second or more monolayers. Subsequently, cluster cavity filling occurs, depending properties surface. characteristically different shape isotherms related to these processes allows clearly differentiate them. We analyzed argon and N2 quantitatively over entire relative pressure range for adsorbents bearing properties: nonporous Stöber-type particles, microporous zeolite L (ZL) filled indigo (Indigo-ZL), three mesoporous silica pore size. formal equilibria involved in have been derived successfully applied describe adsorbents. No indication regarding top first one was observed particles. Instead, generation, which minimizes surface tension, starts early. behavior ZL Indigo-ZL is different. A sets up some delay. enthalpy is, however, practically identical that seen difference between experimental calculated inflection points very small. shapes differ significantly from those quantitative analysis data proves cavities ends as soon all sites are filled. sum individual fractional contributions, namely ?mL, appearance ?2L one, ?cav, yields isotherm ?calc describes ?exp well. excellent agreement, also case points. value roughly 10% larger than volume smaller adsorbent diameter 2.7 nm, while it same diameters 4.1 nm 4.4 respectively. conclude understanding signature several sequential chemical equilibrium steps provides additional information clusters, cavities, position points, accessible means conventional models. theory reported herein covers type I, II, IV extent VI isotherms.

Novel Silica-Based Hybrid Adsorbents: Lead(II) Adsorption Isotherms

Water pollution caused by the lead(II) from the spent liquor has caught much attention. The research from the theoretical model to application fundaments is of vital importance. In this study, lead(II) adsorption isotherms are investigated using a series of hybrid membranes containing mercapto groups (-SH groups) as the hybrid adsorbents. To determine the best fitting equation, the experimental...

Adsorption Isotherms and Kinetics Models of Starchy Adsorbents on Uptake of Water from Ethanol – Water Systems

The adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of ethanol-water systems on starch-based adsorbents prepared from cassava were undertaken. These include modified cassava starch (MS), cassava starch (CS), cassava pellet (CP), and Cassava shred (AB). The adsorption equilibrium data were best represented by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorption kinetics was found to follow second order kinetics...

MODELING OF ADSORPTION ISOTHERMS AND KINETICS OF 2,4,6- TRICHLOROPHENOL ONTO MICROPOROUS ZnCl2 ACTIVATED COIR PITH CARBON

Activated carbon prepared from coir pith using ZnCl2 was investigated to find the feasibility of its application for removal of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP) in aqueous solution through adsorption process. Batch mode kinetics and isotherm studies were carried out to evaluate the effects of contact time, initial concentration, adsorbent dose, pH, and temperature. Lagergren, second order, and Bangh...
